How do you apply a ceramic coating?
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that is directly applied to the surface of your vehicle by hand. This makes the process of application quite tactile, which is why a certified professional installer, like Fresh Details, are sought after. Hand application reduces the chance of errors.
Once installed, how do I maintain my vehicle for optimal ceramic performance?
Yes, a ceramic coating will keep your vehicle cleaner longer, however the proper maintenance for a ceramic coating includes regular exterior detailing that needs to be done correctly by the owner or by a professional detailer such as Fresh Details. Even though a ceramic coating is largely hydrophobic, it still needs to be washed and cared for regularly. Coating inspections should also be done every other month or so, and then a yearly inspection is needed to uphold warranty.
How long does the ceramic coating last?
Pending on the type of protection you choose our ceramic coatings last anywhere from 2 to 10+ years. Don’t forget, proper maintenance is required by the owner to make sure you reach your specifically chosen ceramic lifespan.
What could damage my ceramic coating?
The number one thing that can ruin a ceramic coating is the improper care once installed. Improper washing techniques, automatic car washes and non-PH neutral soaps will all make quick work of your new coating, leaving it damaged and unable to perform its duties.
We pride ourselves by being one of the very few detailers who provides the client with a proper care pamphlet with each and every coating, which explains how to properly care for their newly coated vehicle. As always, a ceramic coating does not protect against deep scratches, impact damage or anything a paint protection film resists.
